GRA Ex-25 is an orally active human glucagon receptor antagonist in a transgenic murine pharmacodynamic model, with IC50 of 56 and 55 nM for rat and human glucagon receptors, respectively. GCGR has evolved as an attractive therapeutic target for the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus.
